Yes. Our free case evaluation includes a review of your case to see if we can represent you in a lawsuit. We will review information you provide to us and let you know if we can assist you with your case. However, for consultations seeking legal advice on an ongoing matter we charge an initial consultation fee (the fee is based upon the experience of the attorney meeting with you). For example, if you are seeking advice about a severance agreement or noncompete agreement and want to know your rights, we charge a fee to meet with you, review the agreement, and provide legal advice. Or if you are seeking advice on a current business issue, we charge a fee to review your situation, meet with you, and provide legal advice.

No. Stavros Law offers a free consultation to individuals and businesses who are looking to determine whether they have a lawsuit that we can assist them with and act as trial counsel. For example, if you are looking to see if you can sue for breach of contract, we offer a free case review. Or, if you have been terminated from your employment and you want to see if you have a wrongful termination claim, we offer a free case evaluation to evaluate your claim and determine if we can assist you. However, we do not offer case evaluations where you are simply looking for legal advice from a lawyer. In those situations, we charge a consultation fee to meet with you and provide advice.

You should first reach out to us and let us know who the adverse party is that you are seeking to assert a claim against before sending us personal information or details about your case. Once you do that, and we confirm we do not have a conflict of interest, you can send us information about your case. The information you send should include a timeline of events with dates and other pertinent information related to your case. Once we review this initial information, we can request other relevant items and information from you — including relevant documents — and set up a meeting if we determine you have a case we can assist you with.

Yes, we take cases on a contingency fee basis. A contingency fee is an arrangement where we only get paid attorney fees if we obtain a recovery for you. Our contingency fee percentage varies depending on the type of case and length of the case. Before we take your case on a contingency fee basis, we will send you a written fee agreement to review and sign that outlines how we charge for our services.

Depending on your situation, we offer a variety of fee arrangements, including hourly rate fee agreements, hybrid fee agreements (reduced hourly rate plus a contingency fee percentage), fixed fee arrangements (an agreed upon total for the representation), and flexible fee arrangements. Every year we offer pro bono services or reduced fee services to a number of clients, based upon financial need, hardship, and other factors. These representations are limited to individuals who have a demonstrated financial need or hardship and are based upon current workload and available resources.
